Zipporah is a fourth-year undergraduate student at the University of Chicago, double-majoring in Computer Science and Sociology. She greatly enjoyed coding the various textbooks with Emileigh and the other undergraduate interns and is currently exploring various opportunities for after graduation where she can similarly make a difference in the world.
Reflecting on her childhood, Zipporah realizes how much was tied into the process of reading and being read to—learning to read, speak, and understand, bonding with her parents and little brother, building a concept of the world around her. Knowing that her own worldview was so shaped by this process, she so appreciated the chance to work on this project to explore what we are unintentionally teaching children through the content they encounter.
